Comments:Mo'Nique to be among no-shows at Oscars nominees luncheon

IT IS A LUNCHEON. Mo'Nique obviously does not kiss *ss! The woman has a full-time job and a staff to run. Like Mo'Nique said in an interview....she performed her role, let her be judge from her performance. She is not on the Oscar's payroll. Regardless if she wins or loses...her stock value has risen. Lastly, I hate to throw the race card into play, but it is funny how some people is making a big deal out of this African American actor no shows, but does not comment on the Caucasian actors who does not show up to every event. PEOPLE GET A LIFE and QUIT GOSSIPING! OH, I would love to see the people who have full-time jobs put traveling, luncheons, parties, and attending event before putting bread and bacon on the table for their families.

The vitriol leveled at Mo'Nique for failing to show up to some of these events is crazy. Frankly, I think far too much has been made of her absences. As much as people complain about people campaigning for Oscars, it seems as if people get upset still when you do not. I honestly do not think Mo'Nique is being disrespectful or unappreciative in any way. She has a major commitment, a day job to think about. Her absence means the show does not go on, which means the large number of people who work behind the scenes don't get paid. That's pretty honorable to me. Further, as Dan W. mentioned, you do realize the other stars failed to show up for the luncheon as well. Why the tremendous focus on Mo'Nique?

What do you guys have against Monique? From that headline, you would think she was the only nominee not available. Is some pr representative of one of the other nominees in your staff?

What gives? Is monique reverting back to her old behavior? If I were nominated, I wouldn't miss the luncheon for the world, there are only a select few who can go and I'm shocked that it seems like a majority won't be there. Maybe monique is not a shoo-in to win, if only there was another person who pulled in a better performance -- if only Diane Kruger had been nominated for Inglorious Basterds.

Go Tarantino, you deserve best director.

Will Maggie Gyllenhaal be there?
