Oscar Voters: Don't look!

Hmmm … Apparently 20th Century Fox doesn't mind flipping the bird at moviegoers, but they won't show same to members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
A photo of a woman's defiant finger (OK, it's not technically the bird — it's the ring finger) has been chosen as the official poster and ad image for "The Family Stone," which means it'll appear in newspapers that accept it in December when the comedy is released nationwide. But, as everyone knows, Oscar voters have no sense of humor.
A studio rep confirms that the photo will not be used in "For Your Consideration" ads appearing in the trade papers. The official reason: "We believe those ads should feature the talent up for awards."

You right CC, the voters are to "above" the level of a poster like that.

Um, the voters aren't the ones who are putting out the ads. That would be the distributor.
Gutless distributor, not gutless voters.
