Sorry for the slow-down of this column. Personal biz. This bull-headed New Yorker has finally surrendered to The Inevitable. Just got an apartment in L.A. — am now, officially, bicoastal. Today was the ordeal we all dread most about moving — waiting for the cable guy! Shoot me, please! End my suffering! Of course, he didn't show up, so I had to throw a diva fit that would make Norma Desmond proud. Lost my battles today with the utility companies. Will have to face them down again tomorrow morn as I continue to buy more furniture, a refrigerator, car, blah, blah.

Considering that I also have an apartment in New York and a house in Pennsylvania, I am now a single person with three residences, two cars, 6 television sets, 4 Tivo services, 4 computers . . . Ridiculous.
