Backstage at the Daytime Emmys

April 28, 2006 |  5:07 pm

Backstage in the press room now where it's virtually empty and sooooo quiet, which was never the case just secs before the Daytime Emmys went on the air back in New York City, but that's because Radio City Music Hall didn't have much of a red carpet area for journos to straddle and bug the stars as they enter the awards arena. This room will be filling up soon.

Rick Springfield just started singing "Don't Talk to Strangers" in the new "fan zone" erected outside the Kodak Theater. Lucky for the journos, the stars didn't hear Rick's plea before they chatted up the press.

"Don't Talk to Strangers" was just wonderful by Rick Springfield. I adore that song and it brought back so many memories - was always my favorite Rick Springfield song and of course it was cute that he had Jennifer Landon sing a verse too! He tried with a couple others in the crowd but they wouldn't sing, ha ha. Great show tonight.
