Complete list of Emmy finalists?
Looks like our message-board poster "Jimmie from the Block" and his secret source at About.com plus our forums moderator Chris Beachum ("Boomer") have filled in the missing pieces in the lists of top 10 finalists for comedy and drama series and top 15 voter-getters among lead series' actors and actresses. If true, these are the candidates whose sample episodes were viewed at judging panels last weekend. The top five achieving the best scores in each category will be among the final nominees unveiled next Thursday, July 6. Special thanks to our other posters "EA," "Helmetz" and "No Underwear" for their contributions (especially "EA" — yeowsa!)
Of course, these lists should not be considered accurate since they were compiled via pooling internet gossip, but about 40 percent of their content has been verified by second sources, including high-ranking TV network execs who participated in the panels. So far we haven't found any mistakes to make us doubt the validity of the other info. Assuming all of it is accurate, there's a lot of great news here for the TV academy, which is testing this new voting system in an effort to give programs on lower-rated networks an equal chance alongside the biggies. Grouchy TV critics might even jump for joy to see that Lauren Graham ("Gilmore Girls"), Kristen Bell ("Veronica Mars"), Steve Carell ("The Office"), Denis Leary ("Rescue Me"), Jason Lee ("My Name Is Earl"), Kyra Sedgwick ("The Closer"), Tichina Arnold ("Everybody Hates Chris"), Hank Azaria ("Huff"), Lisa Kudrow ("The Comeback"), Mary-Louise Parker ("Weeds"), Treat Williams ("Everwood") and Kevin Connelly and Adrian Grenier ("Entourage") got shots at lead-acting noms. No doubt the same critics will kvetch over the omission of "Battlestar Gallactica" in the top races, but that may not be the TV academy's fault. The sci-fi genre gets little respect at Hollywood awards. "Star Wars" and "E.T." lost best picture at the Oscars. i personally think that Lauren Graham so deserves the emmy for actress in a comedy.
i mean, it's been on for six years, going into its sixth season, and Gilmore Girls is one of the best shoes on televesion.

I just want for Lauren Graham to be nominated.

I am really surprised that more people are not behind the Will and Grace campaign. I agree that the show has run its course and has not been up to the same level it once was over the past two seasons, however, the finale of this fine show was outstanding. All four actors were outstanding. James Burrows and the writers did a great send off for this now "classic show" and deserve to get emmy. Also, I am really crossing my fingers for any nominations for Grey's Anatomy, Entourage, Desperate Housewives (Marcia and Eva only) and a nomination for the great Julia Louis Dreyfuss who has broken the "Seinfeld curse"

I am rooting for Lauren Graham. she should to get win for Emmy she need it she worked so hard and she is best actress I mean. give her chance winner to be fair she earned it .give her due. I think she will come get better more succesful big movie and lead actress....

I realize only the viewers like CSI, NCIS and L&O SVU, but no one who saw the performances of Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni in "Fault", Mark Harmon and any member of the cast in any episode of NCIS, and William Petersen and the whole cast in "A Bullet Runs Through It", "Rashamama", "Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang", or "Way To Go" can possibly not say these weren't Emmy-nominee performances.
Not glorified soap-operas or hosannas to crime, the nuanced acting on each of these shows stays with you. I hope the Emmy panels looked for Prime Rib rather then bubble gum.

Again, in all fairness like the Daytime Emmys, the Academy for the Primetime Emmys need to create categories for youth oriented programs and younger actors/actresses. This way programs like Veronica Mars and its cast has a better chance of being nominated and winning Emmys. If the Academy had done this many, many years ago, shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dawson's Creek etc. and even Smallville (wonderful series) today would have stood better chances of winning Emmys. Come on Academy, catch up with your daytime cohorts. Create categories for Best Younger Actress/Actor in a Comedy/Drama Series, Best Youth Oriented Comedy and Drama Series. These young talents deserve a great deal of recognition too.

I am rooting for Patricia Arquette for "Medium". She won lead actress in a drama last year, and she can do it again with a great submission tape for 2006.

I swear if Lauren Graham doesn't get noticed AGAIN, the academy are a bunch of ignorant fools.
And Kristen Bell deserves some recognition for a change.
I'm rooting for:
DRAMA ACTOR
Hugh Laurie, "House"
DRAMA ACTRESS
Patricia Arquette, "Medium"
Kristen Bell, "Veronica Mars"
COMEDY ACTOR
Jason Bateman,"Arrested Development"
Zach Braff,"Scrubs"
Steve Carell,"The Office"
Jason Lee,"My Name is Earl"
COMEDY ACTRESS
Lauren Graham,"Gilmore Girls"
There's a few in that category I like too, but LG stands out from the rest.
I'm so over seeing Desperate Housewives everywhere.
Jenna Fischer better get a nod for best supporting actress in a comedy. Or i'll be cut.

Hopefully in the best supporting acor category we will get a nomination for Harold Perrineau from Lost. There weren't finer moments on TV this year than his performances on Lost.
I also agree with the Lauren Graham nod. Give her her due. She earned it.

I think overall this list is very diverse and strong but I am beyond saddened to see "Battlestar Galactica", despite their extended Emmy campaign to get this show it's deserved attention, not to be among the elite 10 Dramas. Same with "Prison Break", but especially "\The Shield".
Any list that doesn't have those 3 Dramas in its top 10 is a false and incomplete list if you want to talk about the best in Television Dramas. Thrilled though about "Rescue Me" and "Veronica Mars" among others.
Also, the show and its stars didn't get the attention they deserved and the show is now gone after a year (gee, THANKS ABC for choosing "What About Brian" a far bigger travesty then any Emmy voting) but a major shout to "Invasion" and it's stars, William Fichtner and Kari Matchett.
The show was beyond fantastic and deserved one more year. What a well done show. In particular, the Underlays (Matchett and Fichtner), gave two of the best performances anywhere on Television. What a crime for them to not even be mentioned.
Thankfully, William Fichtner's performance didn't go unnoticed since "Prison Break", another favorite of mine, is bringing him on board.
Finally, one other criticism--this undying love everyone has for "Grey's Anatomy". It's a fine soap opera, has solid entertainment value and performances...but's a soap opera like "Melrose Place", not a true classic. It's certainly not in the acting or storyline league of say a "Battlestar Galactica" or "The Shield", two of the most powerful Dramas on Television, perhaps of all time.
I am sure I will get criticzed for saying this but just because something is a Top Ten Rated show doesn't make it worthy of a Dramatic Emmy for it's series or actors.

Desperate Housewives in the comedy catagories is wrong, the MAIN emphasis of that show is drama. (Such as it is...one season wonder show ,tops). Frances Conroy is by far the the most deserving of dramatic best actress (PLEASE, no Edie Falco and her histrionics!). Lisa Kudrow should have the Emmy gift wrapped & handed to her. (Phoebe who?) The Office deserves any & all awards it's eligible for. I hope Rainn Wilson gets the supporting nod!

No, acting ISN'T just acting. There's a difficulty that comes with certain characters and certain stories. There's no way you could possibly compare actors on Without A Trace to let's say, Six Feet Under. It's just incomparable. Law & Order: SVU is really the only procedural show that gives the actors enough to work with that they can provide as riveting performances as the other drama shows nominated.

lisa kudrow as valerie cherish was the finest, most brilliant performance of the year. she deserves a nomination AND a win. i'm so happy to see this tragically canceled show/performance finally get the attention it deserves with all this emmy speculation. i will be heartbroken if Lisa's name isn't announced on july 6th.

Looking over the Not Listed list for Best Drama Series, I'm surprised to see CSI and CSI: Miami listed and not CSI: NY. I almost stopped watching both of the other shows because of the writing they had this year while, in the process, I got hooked onto CSI: NY. Why doesn't anyone give that particular show the attention it deserves? And for that matter, why not an acting nomination for Melina Kanikaderes or Carmine Giovinazzo?

I'm so excited for Entourage! Best Comedy, and two Actors in the Lead race, I'm hoping they can pull off those nominations!
I'm also pysched at the chance that Lauren Graham might get her first Emmy nod, I love her and want her to get nominated so bad! She is awesome in GG!

All I really care about:
Drama Actress:
Ellen Pompeo
Mariska Hargitay
Comedy Actress:
Lauren Graham
Lisa Kudrow
Drama Actor:
Patrick Dempsey
Hugh Laurie
Comedy Actor:
Zach Braff
Drama:
Grey's Anatomy
Comedy:
Scrubs
(plus any extra nominations for the Grey's and Scrubs casts--Sandra Oh? John C. McGinley?--would be awesome)

This list looks great to me, with the exception that Veronica Mars isn't among the best dramas and Terry Crews isn't up for comedy actor.

I am happy that Anthony LaPaglia is in the top 15 actors list, but am extremely disappointed
Without A Trace didn't make the cut. I guers the Academy likes filthy soap operas to
classy proceduraks becausre they are so called character oriented. To me acting is acting regardless of the genre. I hope some day there will be two Emmy telecasts: One for Cable and the other for Broadcast Networks so more shows can get the recgnization they deserve. I pray someday that Without A Trace will get its due,
