Our list: who's campaigning for Emmys
Today is the first official day of Emmy voting. TV academy members may now download ballots at Emmys.tv and must send them in for counting by June 20.
Now let's take stock of who has jockeyed to be among the anointed when nominees are announced on July 6. A long, impressive list of who has — and has not — mounted Emmy campaigns has been compiled by our forum posters, led by moderator Chris Beachum ("Boomer"), based upon the "For Your Consideration" ads appearing in trade publications plus DVDs mailed to TV academy members. We know which DVDs those are, because — swallow hard, TV academy leaders, and brace yourselves — they pop up for sale on EBAY, making us wonder: why do so many academy members need a few bucks so badly?
To see the full list, click here and catch fascinating glimpses of what's going on behind the Emmy scenes. Among canceled shows, you'll discover that "Alias," "Commander-in-Chief," "Everwood" and past winner of best comedy series "Arrested Development" have given up and not bothered to mount campaigns, while "Malcolm in the Middle," "Will & Grace" and "The Comeback" are aiming to make big comebacks on awards night. "Desperate Housewives" sent out three episodes to voters ("Next," "One More Kiss," "Could I Leave You") in the series competition, while "Weeds," "Barbershop," "Everybody Hates Chris" and "Battlestar Gallactica" shipped their full season.

I really hope that the Emmys finally reward 24 as best drama. It has never deserved it more than this phenomenal year -- not one single episode was not sheer perfection and nothing short of thrilling.
Kim Raver should be nominated for best actress, jean smart for best supporting actress , greg itzin for best supporting actor and Keifer Sutherland for best actor. They should win in those categories as well.

If shows don't mount campaigns for Emmys, can they still be nominated? I'm asking because Arrested Development was by far the best comedy of 2005/2006, but apparently they're not running a campaign. Please tell me it can still be nominated.
