Graham left at Emmy altar again!
Ouch! Poor Lauren Graham got slapped again! After six previous snubs, the Emmys tinkered with the voting system specifically to give that Gilmore Girl a shot at best comedy actress at last, but, weirdly, she got shut out again.
There are lots of other shockeroos among these nominations, which were supposed to boost the luck of all low-rated rivals. Somehow it ended up getting "Two And A Half Men" and Charlie Sheen the noms they couldn't reap under the old system -- a popular vote that should've, theoretically, favored TV's most popular comedy.
Specifically, those alternative networks like FX, UPN, WB, Showtime, TNT and USA were supposed to benefit most and that didn't happen. None of the nominees for best comedy or drama series are from those second-tier channels and only three contenders for lead actor and actress: Denis Leary ("Rescue Me"), Kyra Sedgwick ("The Closer") and two-time past winner Tony Shalhoub ("Monk").
Last year America's TV critics were outraged that "Will & Grace" had the most Emmy noms even though it had one of its worst seasons ever. This year it leads again, after an even worse year, but at least it didn't make the cut for best comedy series!

I am very mad and sad that Lauren Graham didn't get in. she deserves to get in more than anyone. She has a great t.v show, the Gilmore Girls. That is one of the best shows on the t.v. she works very hard on everything. Lauren does a lot of movies and shows, and deserves to get in. I think she should get into the Emmy's, and a lot of people feel the same way. Without Lauren Graham in the Emmy's, it won't be the same, because she is my favorite actress in the world. I think you rock Lauren! I love your shows and movie the Pacifier, but I am going to try to see so more of your movies besides the ones I have already seen.

I thought they were even calling the new rules The Lauren Graham rules, because everyone was so sure she'd get a nom this year. I do think they submitted the wrong episode though. They put Partings forward in the Comedy category, ouch, not gonna work, shooting up the wrong tree there babe.
Hopefully next year!!

I thought the Emmys were supposed to honor outstanding work. Lauren Graham deserved a nomination, like always. However, this season I believe she should have been nominated in the drama category. When I watched the nominations being announced Thursday morning, I was completely livid. The only part I was happy about was Desperate Housewives getting no nominations. And Two and a Half Men? Seven nominations- seriously? That's insane. Depends what network your on to get a nomination. Where was Lost? Kelly Bishop? Obviously the Emmy's don't honor quality work, and if they did, Lauren Graham would have five Emmy's sitting on top of her shelf.

Lauren Graham will get a nom from someone else and win. They are just missing out on one the best actresses ever.

To all the programs that got snubbed, hopefully the Academy will wake up next year and finally give you your due. Also here's hoping the Academy will finally hear my plea and create categories for younger performers and youth oriented programs so they will have better chances of receiving an Emmy for their contributions to the TV industry. Young performers are lumped together with the adult performers in the nominating process--it's so unfair. Take a hint from your daytime counterparts--they know what they're doing. It would be great to see young performers from shows like Smallville, The O.C., Everybody Hates Chris, Veronica Mars, Supernatural, Gilmore Girls, et. al. finally get their due and youth oriented program as such deserve kudos as well. It was a crime when Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dawson's Creek, Everwood all went unnoticed and empty-handed come Emmy time. This year's nominations are extremely embarrassing with all the snubs and more so with nominees who are up for playing themselves--there should be a rule against nominating an actor playing himself--it's ludicrous!

While I was upset that Lauren Graham got snubbed, I can't believe no one is mentioning the worst snub of all -- Forest Whitaker's fabulous work on "The Shield."
I've always watched the Emmys, but with this horrible crop of picks. I won't be watching this year and I know a lot of other people who won't be either.

Lauren Graham will prevail!

I am completely shocked that Lauren Graham wasn't nominated. She is such a fantastic actress and is always bringing new stuff to the table. Her choices are unique and fresh, unlike most actors on television and on the big screen. Emmy voters may have snubbed her this time, but I have a feeling she will have the last laugh. Keep up the great work Lauren Graham!!!

Tom, why do you think Graham was omitted yet again? Was her episode selection not up to par or can it be attributed to GG's dramedy status? It's just sad that people were going around calling the new rules the 'lauren graham rule'. Maybe she'll get one next year since 4 our of the 5 best actresses won't be in the running.

I for one won't be watching The Emmys, it's a snooze fest anyway. Without Lauren Graham, the cast of Lost or Hugh Laurie on the list of nominees, nothing makes any sense.

There's really nothing to crow about this year's Emmy noms--Desperate Housewives totally snubbed (sigh!) and my favorites as usual Smallville and Veronica Mars never given a chance in hell. Again, the Academy needs to come into the 21st Century and create categories for younger performers and programs like its daytime counterparts do. But like every year, it's the same ole, same ole--yawwwwnnnn! No wonder TV sucks.

This season of "Will & Grace" was definitely better than last season. This is the 6th time Lauren Graham has not been nominated for "Gilmore Girls," making it five previous snubs, not six.

Well Tom...wait to go on pressing for this system...Seriously, can the Emmys actually have gotten even wronger than before!?!?! You have to go no further than the Best Actress comedy race to see how wrong things really are. No LOST for Drama Series?!?! Are they for real? You can not encompass how great the series is just by watching a single episode and this new system did the show a diservice.

What a farce. Same old nominees. So much for the new nominating system.
