Snubbed 'Grey' star speaks up
"Screw them!" cried Emmy-snubbed Katherine Heigl when asked what she thought about her "Grey's Anatomy" costars getting nominations.
"What happened to mine?" asked the actress who portrays Izzie Stevens, a doctor who quit her job when she fell in love with a patient. "That's what I want to know. What happened to my nomination?"
Comingsoon.net insists she's kidding, but notes that she really cares so much about Emmys that she watched the July 6 noms press conference live at 5:30 a.m. (Pacific) where costar Sandra Oh was nommed again. She muses: "I wonder if this year she's like, 'Eh, this is old hat. I was nominated last year. Whatever.' I wonder if you ever get like that."
Photo: Heigl insists that she's not really downcast about being slighted by Emmy voters. Even though her character hung up her doctor's scrubs at the end of the last season, Heigl is happy about being able to return to the hit medical series in the fall.

Nay..I'm pretty sure she's joking. She's the kind if gal who would always make fun of herself that what I like about her. I hope her co-stars won the award so do Grey's the BEST DRAMA .

If she's joking, then good for her. It pays to have a sense of humor about this process. In the unlikely event that she's serious, then all I can do is shake my head. If only two actors could be nominated for "Grey's" then the exact right two actors were. Sandra Oh and Chandra Wilson are the highlights of a show that is often nothing more than a limited soap opera, and Heigl's snub for the hysterical overacting she did at season's end -- and, to be fair, the hysterically poor writing of her character -- is a good example of Emmy getting something right this year.
Heigl is generally a decent actress, but this year did not represent her finest hour.
