Gillian Anderson was awarded the Broadcasting Press Guild Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series in London for her performance as Lady Dedlock in Bleak House over Helen Mirren's Elizabeth 1. Gillian was also nominated for the BAFTA for this performance. Helen wasn't even nominated for the BAFTA. Gillian gave an amazing performance in Bleak House and I think all involved in Bleak House deserve Emmys.
The Emmy selection committee should have their collective asses kicked for FAILING to nominate Anna Maxwell Martin for Bleak House as Best Supporting Actress in a Miniseries. ANNA won the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in Bleak House.
Bleak House had over 80 speaking roles in the 8 hour production. The majority were excellent choices for the roles. What was with the Creative Arts Emmy being awarded to Elizabeth 1????????? My guess is most critics and the members of the Emmy selection committe did not watch ALL 8 HOURS of BLEAK HOUSE!
