Catch your first glimpse of a major Oscar rival by spying the newly released trailer for "Catch a Fire," one of the lead ponies of Focus Features, the studio that rode "Brokeback Mountain," "The Constant Gardener" and "Pride & Prejudice" at the last Oscar derby. CLICK HERE!

"Catch a Fire" (previously titled "Hot Stuff") stars Derek Luke ("Antwone Fisher") as an oil-refinery employee who fights back against the apartheid regime of South Africa when its goon squads terrorize him and his family. Ultimately becoming a firebrand rebel, he's hunted down by a government official (Tim Robbins). Based on the real-life story of Patrick Chamusso. Directed by Phillip Noyce ("The Quiet American," "Rabbit-Proof Fence," "Patriot Games").

If the movie is as good as the preview, Derek Luke should win an oscar for his performance.
