Such a shame that it has come to this...back in the 70s and early 80s when the Academy Awards were held at the L.A. Music Center's Dorothy Chandler Pavillion, bleacher seats were so easy to get. All one had to do was arrive Sat. morning, pick your ideal spot (to view the stars), camp out thru Monday (Oscar Night). You were able to bring your blanket, pillow, food/drinks, cameras, signs to show support of your favorite actor/actress and picture and portable TV/radio to entertain yourselves and others. It would become one big party. News reporters would interview us and we would see ourselves on TV. It was first come, first serve. And my sister, friends and I did this for almost 20 years until bleacher seating arrangements and new procedures just killed everything. It was fun while it lasted...oh well.
