Toronto critics say 'The Queen' reigns supreme
"The Queen" pulled rank over "The Departed" and "United 93" to be voted best picture of 2006 by the Toronto Film Critics Association. "The Queen's" Helen Mirren won best actress over Penelope Cruz ("Volver") and Judi Dench ("Notes on a Scandal"). After creating a major ruckus at the Toronto International Film Festival with "Borat" in September, Sacha Baron Cohen was hailed at best actor over Ryan Gosling ("Half Nelson") and Forest Whitaker ("The Last King of Scotland").

Could it be that Jennifer Hudson is not the lock for Best Supporting Actress that everyone thinks - Blanchett has picked up a couple of Best Supporting Actress Critics Awards for the grandly vicious Notes on a Scandal and how nice to see Lili Taylor got noticed for her work in Factotum by the San Diego critics
