Again, she screamed
"I was like 'Oh, my God!' and I screamed kind of a little bit like how I did in the movie," "Little Miss Sunshine" star Abigail Breslin told the Associated Press when she heard she reaped an Oscar nomination for best supporting actress. "I was just so excited!"
At age 10, "Little Miss Sunshine" star Abigail Breslin isn't the youngest Oscar nominee ever. She's the fourth youngest and, if she wins on Feb. 25, she'll be the second-youngest champ. Tatum O'Neal was also 10 years old when she won for "Paper Moon," but 6 months younger than Breslin will be on Oscar night.
The other two female Oscar contenders younger than Breslin were also 10 years old when nommed: Mary Badham in "To Kill a Mockingbird"(1962) and Quinn Cummings in "The Goodbye Girl" (1977).

If there were a separate category for child-actors then Dakota Fanning will be sweeping up awards every year...do you really want that to happen? Now Little Miss Sunshine please shut up and go away...Lord, please...I really hope she doesn't win or else get ready for the scream (again)!!

Is it me or should child actors have their own category? I'm sick of seeing 5-6-7-8 year olds put in the "best" category along with grown-a*** adults who probably have more experience and have built up a network and all sorts of other stuff.
Okay, Academy can you please start a "breakthrough child actor" category.
Or better yet, folks you can sign my petition #19876a at Petitionsonline for an Academy change. Thanks.

I can't beleive this nomination! Egad - best supporting actress! It only proves that film actors are a sham. A 10 year-old is better than hundreds of other actresses that apprared in films this past year should be an embarrassment to all the others. Get a rrefund from acting schools.
Not to mention that this lame movie was nominated also.
