Easy money: betting on the Razzies

Why are the bookies even bothering to issue odds on who the "winners" of the Razzies will be?

Let's put it this way: Sharon Stone at the Razzies — Helen Mirren at the Oscars. A total lock.

And Ms. Stone's gawdawful sequel "Basic Instinct 2" is a slam-dunk, shoo-in to nab the biggie — Worst Movie of the Year! It would foolish to bet against it.

BetED.com issues these specific odds in the pic lineup:

Basic Instinct 2 (-150)
Little Man (-200)
Wicker Man (+900)
Lady in the Water (+1250)
BloodRayne (+250).

Hecklerspray.com has these odds on the worst actress smackdown:

Sharon Stone, Basic Instinct 2 - 8/13
Hilary Duff & Haylie Duff, Material Girls - 4/1
Kristanna Loken, Bloodrayne - 6/1
Jessica Simpson, Employee Of The Month - 6/1
Lindsay Lohan, Just My Luck - 8/1

Hands down: jessica Simpson in "Employee of the Month" Worst. Acting. Ever.

the head razzberry slants the results to go a certain way (his way) and makes no apologies for it; but there is a balloting process before the final five in each category, and people are free to vote how they will. personally i voted for the insipid sisters entered as one for worst actress, and the crass and vulgar LITTLE MAN for worst picture, who made a mockery of the science of special effects. i couldnt bring myself to vote for a film with ben kingsley nor paul giamatti in it, nor sharon stone for that matter. but yeah; BASICALLY IT STINKS TOO is definiteky the front runner. it's like betting on figure skating in an Olympic year.
