Scenes from our Envelope Oscar pah-tay!

Too bad that our Envelope bash celebrating awards season last Thursday night at the Hollywood Museum was such a crowded smash that we couldn't open the doors to Envelope lovers beyond the invitee list. The place was so packed with Hollywood honchos that worker bees like me could barely squeeze in. The gala launched the new exhibit, sponsored by the L.A. Times, titled "And the Winner Is . . .," which you can see now. From Thursdays to Sundays till April 1, the costumes from 10 Oscar-nominated films will remain on display along with treasures from past award winners like "Gone with the Wind" and "Chicago," plus precious artifacts like Bob Hope's honorary Oscar statuette. The museum is located just a block away from the Kodak Theater — at 1660 N. Highland Ave. Drop by! Here are scenes from our fun time saluting the exhibit's debut.

Haley

Oscar supporting actor nominee Jackie Earle Haley ("Little Children") is obviously a seasoned showbiz pro. As he chatted with me and had his photo taken, it was right below The Envelope logo.

Leeza

Leeza Gibbons handles The Envelope microphone with confidence and a big smile (notice the nifty Envelope logo on the mike) when she agreed to share her thoughts about the costume exhibit. We'll feature the actual video in the next few days. At left: Johnny Depp's costume from "Pirates of the Caribbean 2." At right: Adrianna Barraza's memorable red dress from "Babel."

Donelleobrien

At right: Envelope columnist Elizabeth Snead interviews Margaret O'Brien, who shows off the Juvenile Oscar she was awarded in 1944 for "Meet Me in St. Louis." At left, Hollywood Museum president Donelle Dadigan welcomes her guests, then introduces the boss . . .

Hillermoms

. . . L.A. Times publisher David Hiller, who introduces the REAL BOSSES and the two leading ladies of Hollywood who stole the whole show: his mother Shirley Hiller and Donelle's mom Eleanor Dadigan.
