The Envelope's official Oscar odds

I don't agree with these odds, frankly. I think my fellow kudos nuts have gone a bit, well, nutso over the fanciful idea that "Little Miss Sunshine" can pull off a blinding upset on Sunday night. Personally, I think "Babel's" in a close second place. But here are the odds, drafted for us by David Scott of Americasline.com based upon our current Buzzmeter:

BEST PICTURE
"The Departed" - 8/5
"Little Miss Sunshine" - 3/2
"Babel" - 2/1
"Letters From Iwo Jima" - 15/1
"The Queen" - 50/1

BEST ACTOR
Forest Whitaker, "The Last King of Scotland" - 4/5
Peter O'Toole, "Venus" - Even
Leonardo DiCaprio, "Blood Diamond" - 10/1
Will Smith, "The Pursuit of Happyness" - 50/1
Ryan Gosling, "Half Nelson" - 100/1

I don't know how that happened. Perhaps my fault when I submitted them for lay-out. But everybody at LATimes.com is so superbizzy during Oscarmania that I'm not going to ask them to restack 'em.
