And the winner is . . . Scott Robson
Sad news for TheEnvelope.com. Great news for Scott Robson, the founding producer of TheEnvelope.com. This website's editor — and the former editor-in-chief of Eonline.com — has taken a new job as editor-in-chief of AOL Movies and TV in New York City. In addition to launching TheEnvelope.com, Scott recently oversaw the creation of the Tribune Company's new Metromix sites that will roll out this summer.
This is the second time — dang! — I've lost Scott as editor. The first was back when I was writing awards coverage for E! Online. Bravely, back then he scooted off for new journo adventures and now, still unbowed by many media battles, devious editors and whiny writers in between, is switching coasts to take on new cyber-struggles ahead. I — and everyone at LATimes.com — wish him well and will miss him much. He's a crackerjack editor and ace guy gifted with huge talent, infinite patience and an unquitting wit and smile. This awards expert decrees: Scott Robson gives, by far, the Best Performance by an Editor in Cyberspace. Period. There are no other nominees.
Good luck, good friend.

I wish Scott Robson all the best. And I want to say "Thank you, Scott" for helping make this site such a winner. I've been a member since Tom O'Neil's GoldDerby launched in 2001, and transitioning it to the Envelope in 2005 has been a resounding success for which all of us owe Scott are gratitude. Again, I thank you, Scott.
