Webby nominees expand to include video

April 11, 2007 |  6:58 am

The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences selected nominees in more than 100 categories from 8,000 entries submitted from a record 60 nations. To see the full list — CLICK HERE!

The BBC reaped the most bids (five), followed by four for National Public Radio, NYTimes.com and Salon.com. TheOnion.com scored lots of bids, too — even in the sports category! Curious snubs: voters prefer FaceBook to MySpace.

This is a scream: apparently, a blog named we-make-money-not-art wants to be considered for its artistic merit since it entered the race for best blog culture/personal.

The Webby Film & Video Awards will be bestowed separately in New York on June 4. One day later will be the gala for the 11th Annual Webby Awards hailing other categories.

Web users may vote on the Webby People's Voice Awards today through April 27. CLICK HERE!
