First, Angie steals Jen's Brad, then her Oscar?
If Angelina Jolie gets nominated for another Academy Award, it's safe to assume that there's one vote she won't get: new academy member Jennifer Aniston.
The role of Mariane Pearl in "A Mighty Heart," remember, was originally to be played by Jen, who was so wowed by the book that her and Brad Pitt's production company, Plan B, picked up the film rights.
"Friends" was just winding down back in those days and TV's biggest female star worried whether she could cross over successfully to film. Taking on a hefty, dramatic movie role terrified her, but "I can see it," Jen told Vogue. "I would love to think that I could" pull it off.
However, when Brad ran off with Angie, he took Plan B with him in the divorce deal. And guess who ended up getting the role?
Soon after "Friends"-less Jen ventured into film, she was nominated for a Razzie as the Worst New Star, but, happily, she "lost" to Pamela Anderson, who was failing to make the leap (bouncing all the while) from TV ("Baywatch") to film ("Barbed Wire").
Jeff Wells of Hollywood-Elsewhere.com doesn't think Aniston would've won over the hearts of Oscar voters as Mariane Pearl.
"Jennifer Aniston is not a bad actress, but she's not right for 'A Mighty Heart,'" he says. "No casting director in their right mind would say, 'Let's try Aniston in the role.' For one thing, she's not right physically. She's not exotic like Jolie and she can't pull off that French/ Italian/ north African accent. Putting Aniston in "A Mighty Heart' would be like casting Marlene Dietrich as Dorothy in 'The Wizard of Oz.'"

Since leaving "Friends," Jen has starred in several film bombs and has managed occasional good reviews here and there, but she hasn't fully, successfully crossed over into movies — and certainly not into Oscar territory.
Now, as Oscar buzz builds for Angie, surely, Jen, somewhere in Malibu, is reading reviews of the movie she launched, wondering . . . hmmmm . . . while her mighty heart breaks again.

Hey, don't stickle me. nobody stuppid to give Jenifer Aniston an oscar. Are you crazy????/ Also Angie didn't steal Brad from Jen. But Brad was jump on her ha ha

Yes Angelina has maybe more of a talent to do these parts in the big screen, But Aniston to me is a wonderful actress and I know she can do it, just as Angelina has. She is just not use to it. Can angelina be funny? I don't really think so.
You are loved Jenn, and God loves you too.
You don't have to be exotic or a bitch to be loved by your fans.

the biggest travesty is angelina jolie playing this part. she's white. she shouldn't be anywhere near this role. she looks stupid in that wig and her darkened skin is offensive. hollywood is racist for allowing jolie to be cast in this part.

Jennifer Aniston acting ability is average, however I do believe she is best on television. Light 30 minute comedies is where her niche is. To me she tends to look self conscious on the big screen as if she doesn't really believe she belongs there. Maybe she doesn't (I don't believe she does) and that's ok. Not every actor should aspire to become a movie star.
I was extremely impressed with Angelina Jolie in A Mighty Heart. Her presence on the big screen is such that one can't take one's eyes off of her. Not only because of her beauty but because she has such command of her space. Her performance is extraordinary and left me in awe. She deserves a Best Actress nomination. Also I think the film itself has an outside shot at a Best Picture nod and maybe Winterbottom for BD.

Brad Pitt and others have stated that the role was never Aniston. Just because Aniston had delusion of grander does not an actress make. She is at best an average actress that got lucky in a sitcom. Jole did an outstanding job in “A Mighty Heart. Her work should speak for itself. Why create unnecessary drama?

If Jennifer Anniston had gotten this role she could have rehearsed it with an acting coach and possibly pulled off an Oscar nomination . Remember Sally Field ? She smartly studied with Lee Strasberg and then went and portrayed Sybil so convincingly that she shocked most of the industry. Jennifer -you are beautiful and talented and we love you .....Prove them wrong...Do a dramatic piece ... Show em what ya got. !!!

Can someone tell me why when an attractive woman is not the traditional blonde(version of blonde) beauty the default description is "exotic"? It is the same bullcrappy that has some reporters still making a distinction between the Jolie Pitt adopted and birth children. It's about making certain people, "other".
Ms. Jolie won her Oscar in her twenties. Her peers selected her work as deserving of that honor. She is a fine actress.

Two anti-Aniston entries in less than a week when Aniston isn't doing anything right now? Someone seems a bit obsessed.

PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Jennifer Aniston in this role would have been the biggest travesti in the history of Cinema, she is a average actrees from a sitcom show. Angelina is much more of actrees then Aniston.
