Emmy Judge #2 liked '2.5 Men' & '30 Rock,' too, but LOVED 'Entourage'
"Yes, yes, there's no doubt that Emmy judges loved 'Two and a Half Men' and '30 Rock," reports another judge who participated in the Sunday panel session. "'Men' had outstanding performances, writing and direction — all across the board. But, personally, I thought 'Entourage' was the best. I ranked it number one, but maybe that's just because I love the show so much as a regular viewer. "
This panelist — let's call him Judge #2 — volunteered that he ranked "Ugly Betty" . . .
Photo: "Entourage" cad Jeremy Piven won the Emmy for best supporting actor in a comedy series last year. (Tribune Co.). . . in second place, then "Two and a Half Men" and "Desperate Housewives" next. Then he put "Scrubs" and "The Office" "somewhere in the middle — I can't remember," he adds, "and I put 'Weeds' and 'Earl' in last and second-to-last place. 'Earl' struck me as goofy hick schtick." Judge #1 liked "Weeds" much more, ranking it in his top five. "Earl" was ranked further down, but not in the bottom two slots. Judge #2 disagrees with Judge #1 about "Scrubs." He thought that the "My Musical" episode was "very innovative," but he had too many other favorites to rank it higher up than mid-range.
