VMAs: MTV to stage its biggest bash yet

The MTV Music Awards fete is really more party than an awards show, of course. Fine by us. Nifty party. Tomorrow night (Sunday) it takes place in Sin City — Las Vegas — with Timbaland as "maestro" (they refuse to say "host"). The party is a real blow-out — in every direction. It expands beyond the auditorium at the Palms Casino Resort to bashes held in various hotel suites, bars and clubs, too. Meantime, back at the Palms, the main show will rotate between a flashy presenters' stage (pulsing with 7,000 light bulbs) and performance platform. In between will be tables with LED screens on their top surface that blink images that will be part of the show. That is, if we can see them underneath the booze and snacks on the tables set out for the folks gathered 'round to gobble and view the hoedown. MTV wants this to be like the Golden Globes where celebs gather 'round banquet tables to enjoy the show. EW.com has more details — CLICK HERE.

Performers include Britney Spears (crooning K-Fed's theme song "Gimme More"), Chris Brown, Fall Out Boy, 50 Cent, Akon, Gym Class Heroes, Nelly Furtado, Cee-Lo, Rihanna, Kanye West, Souljah Boy, Mark Ronson, Alicia Keys and Maroon 5's Adam Levine. Presenters include Jamie Foxx, case of "Entourage," Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Hudson, Shia LeBeouf, Robin Thicke, Diddy, Sarah Silverman and Kid Rock.
