OSCARS POLL - VOTE: What film has best hope for a best-pic nom?

October 24, 2007 |  5:54 pm

At this time last year, movies that later won 7 of the top 8 Oscars were already released to theaters: best picture, director, actor, actress, supporting actor and both screenplay races ("The Departed," "The Queen," "The Last King of Scotland," "Little Miss Sunshine"). Only the film that won best supporting actress ("Dreamgirls") was still in the can.

Hmmmmmm. Makes you wonder if this year's Oscar race might already be over and we hadn't realized it! So let's just consider the pix already released. If these were voters' chief selections in the top race, which one would they prefer?

I'm for Michael Clayton, It deserves nominations for best original screenplay, male lead and supporting, female supporting, score and sound, cinematography and editing, as well as best picture.
I would hate to see this gem ignored by the Academy.

None of the Above - it's Clayton

My vote would go for "Sweeney Todd" but where is it? I don't see a mention of it on the above list. That might be good because then it might not have that "curse" put upon it.

I would vote for «Zodiac» but can't find it on the list!

None of these.
