'Atonement' wasn't eligible for AFI list
In the post below I originally cited "Atonement" as one of the pix overlooked in the top 10 list issued by the American Film Institute, noting at the end of the item that there was uncertainty about the eligibility of it and other films. Turns out Focus Features confirms that it was not eligible, since it was considered a British production. One of its three production companies is U.S.-based, so therefore the confusion. "Once" was also not eligible, says Fox Searchlight. "Sweeney Todd" was eligible, DreamWorks confirms.

But what about Sweeney Todd? Is that considered a British production?..hmmm?
