Our posters react: Were the Grammys drunk to hail Winehouse?

December 6, 2007 |  6:00 pm

Some of our forum posters were shocked that Amy Winehouse got so much Grammy love when nominations were announced this morning. (Click Here to see reax in our message boards.) .

Kams said, "I would never expect that she would be nominated so many times, because of her personal problems." But, as RBBrittain points out, "Don't forget: Half of modern Hollywood is seemingly in rehab; much of the rest needs to be there. Her song connects with too many Grammy voters to NOT be nommed."

Others commented on who was in the race. ruben122 says, "I'm so glad the Foo Fighters are nominated for album of the year, I hope they win although it's gonna be hard, Kanye's nominated too and his album is really good as well. Foo Fighters may be the greatest and coolest rock band in the world right now."

For other posters, it was all about who was missing from the list. MysteriousRent says, "I am not sure I can remember a nomination snub as surprising as Springsteen in AOTY this year. There was no way any one else was going to win this year, and then he isn't even nominated. I am beyond shocked. Guess Kanye West will finally be able to whine his way to the award this year." And rcamp thought the, "biggest snubs this year are: No Norah Jones, Linkin Park, Pink, OR John Legend."
