'Lust, Caution' rides 7 Golden Horses
"Lust, Caution" has reaped lukewarm reviews from U.S. critics (only a 60 score at MetaCritic.com) and disappointing bucks at the Yankee b.o. (only $4.3 million, compared to $47.2 million worldwide), but it swept Taiwain's Oscars on Saturday. It won seven Golden Horse Awards, including best picture, director (Ang Lee) and actor (Tony Leung Chiu-wai). Hooray for Lee. Remember that he told us recently that he's suffered weird kudos results there in the past, just like in the U.S., where his films don't always win both awards for best picture and director (normally, they're in sync, of course). In 1999, for example, when "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Draon" won the Golden Horse for best picture, Lee lost the director's laurels to Johnny To for "Chueng fo." Read Variety's report on this year's award results.

Loved the film and the mesmerizing performances by Tony Leung and Tang Wei's charisma. A must watch!
