ANSWER: b.) Dustin Hoffman gave a memorable acceptance speech that seemed to welcome his win after having trashed the Academy Award earlier.

Hoffman would win best actor again for "Rain Man" in 1988. He holds the record for getting top billing in the most best-picture winners at the Oscars — three — "Midnight Cowboy" (1969), "Kramer vs. Kramer" (1979) and "Rain Man" (1988).
