The Golden Globes swing back: Ouch!

January 21, 2008 |  7:00 pm

Beating up on the Hollywood Foreign Press Association is a favorite pastime of arrogant Yankee journos — a disgusting ritual that reveals how petty the American media can be while expressing obvious jealously of the success Hfpa_defenseachieved by the HFPA's Golden Globes. Foremost among the bashers has always been Sharon Waxman, who recently ambushed the group again, this time in an op-ed piece in the L.A. Goodridge also notes that HFPA members are widely slammed for attending press junkets, which they do at their own expense. Compare that to many U.S. journos, whose expenses are paid by the film studios. Etc., etc. It's a well-argued article that should be widely read. READ MORE.
