Clooney, Christie and Page to snub BAFTA, reports London Times

Lots  of BAFTA nominees will not attend this Sunday's awardsfest, according to the London Times, which cites George Clooney, Tommy Lee Jones, Julie Christie, Bafta_snubsEllen Page and Philip Seymour Hoffman as upcoming absentees.

But the newspaper account also claims that some other top stars will snub the show, some of them mistakenly ID'd as supporting actress contenders — or even contenders of any sort.

An outraged reader posts in the account's "comments" section:

"Johnny Depp, Laura Linney, Casey Affleck and Hal Holbrook have not been nominated by BAFTA - why then would they attend? And if Affleck, Hoffman and Holbrook were nominated as Supporting "Actresses", they'd mostly likely prefer to stay home and wash their hair. Is there an editor in the house?"
