Chaos over Oscars' supporting-actress predix!

There's major tumult among our Buzzmeter experts trying to predict the category most infamous for upsets at the Oscars: supporting actress.

Suppactress1

Last week Amy Ryan ("Gone Baby Gone") was ahead, but now Cate Blanchett ("I'm Not There") takes the lead with the backing of 11 gurus. Since our Buzzmeter measures aggregate rankings, Ryan then comes in second place since she has such consistently high-level support, but she really has only 8 pundits behind her in the lead spot. Ruby Dee ("American Gangster") has 9 and, coming on strong behind them all, is a late-breaking surge for Tilda Swinton ("Michael Clayton") among such notable gurus as Dave Karger and Jill Bernstein (Entertainment Weekly), Pete Hammond (TheEnvelope) and Kris Tapley (Variety.com/InContention.com).

I'm so glad they give this award early in the show. I can see who wins it and go to sleep. There are no other surprises this year.

Cate Blanchett all the way man..and a close second would have to be codex from the guild..

Hi Tom, Is this the first time that only one film (Michael Clayton) has multiple acting nominations? You should do an article about this year's records.
