Oscars: 'We're running out of time!'

That was the cry of academy president Sid Ganis to Variety today while imploring the WGA either to wrap up talks soon or grant a waiver for the Oscarcast to proceed. The academy, he says, needs to know pronto "as a matter of logistics. We have nominees and potential presenters who live all over the globe. I'm nervous. We're getting down to the final moments; we need to make plans." READ MORE

Meantime, the academy has released this photo (below) of what the ceremony's set will look like regardless of how the show's content may change depending on the strike drama.

oh lord... can you imagine if ruby dee wins and can't recieve her oscar on stage to a deserving standing ovation because of this strike thing? what about kevin o'connell?

writers dont have the right to do this.
