Aussie singer vows he may flash kudos crowd again

March 19, 2008 | 10:59 am

Australia's equivalent to the Grammys — the Aria Awards — won't be bestowed until this fall, but former presenter Axle Whitehead Aria_awards is letting voters know that he may give them something to look forward to, like it or not, if they give him award for his debut single "I Don't Do Surprises."

The ex-TV host exposed his penis and simulated a sex act with the trophy when he appeared at the podium to present a kudo in 2006 because "I just thought, 'Why not lighten the mood and get my tackle out,' " he recently told the Melbourne Herald Sun. "But I have absolutely no regrets. I think more people should do it.

"Everything is getting very safe and in the pocket it's time that people had a crack and just showed a bit of personality," he added.

"Audiences aren't stupid," he insists. "They want to see what people do behind closed doors."
