Tonys' tuners are mined from Hollywood's silver screen

After the recent success of "Hairspray," "The Producers" and "Spamalot" as Broadway musicals, the Rialto is adapting more and more films while expanding their musical scores. This year's Tony Award contenders for best musical may include quite a few examples of this trend, including "Cry-Baby," "A Catered Affair," "Xanadu" and "Young Frankenstein."
