I have just discovered this "gem" of a show called "Monk". Yes, I'm probably five years too late but, I know Tony Shaloub has earned his share of accolades.
In times past, I could never sit through an episode (simply because I would not watch it through the top of the hour), simply because it "seemed" too quirky.
But having seen one "full" episode, got me hooked, and no doubt Mr. Shaloub deserved all the "gold" that goes with his performance.
However, equally impressive is the rest of the ensemble. His female partner, as well as the detective and his assistant deserves recognition as well.
They are all as "quirky" as he is and makes every scene hilariously funny.
To the folks at Golden Globes, remember this, "Law and Order" in its "upteenth" season, was "not" an established ratings hit unitl after its 5th, 6th or 7th season.
This show has been around on the USA network, and people are just beginning to be impressed with it "outside" the cable world.
