James Gandolfini auctioning off Tony Soprano wardrobe from Emmy-winning 'The Sopranos' for charity

May 28, 2008 |  6:26 am

James Gandolfini played mob boss Tony Soprano for 86 episodes of the HBO hit "The Sopranos." Over the course of the eight-year run of the show, the actor won three Emmys, five SAG awards and a Golden Globe for his efforts, along with a legion of loyal James_gandolfini_sopranos_christi_2 fans. (Last year in its final season, Gandolfini lost, but at least his mobster series went out with a bang nailing its second win for best drama series.)

Now, Gandolfini is giving those fans a chance to own a piece of TV history, with the announcement today that he will be auctioning off his wardrobe from the series to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. The charity assists military personnel injured during their service.

Among the 24 lots up for sale at Christie's on June 24 are the bathrobe Tony wore in the opening scene of the pilot episode (estimate $1000 - $1500) and the outift Tony was wearing when Uncle Junior shot him in the season six opener (estimate $2000 - $3000).
