Will Charlie Sheen's ugly split with Denise Richards hurt his shot at an Emmy Award for 'Two and a Half Men'?

May 23, 2008 | 10:50 am

Of all times for Charlie Sheen's personal life to go nuclear again! Not only is his divorce turning ugly during Emmy season (voting starts June 2), but this year the two-time past loser has his best chance ever to win. Assuming he gets nominated again like he has the last two years, he plans to give Emmy judges a sample episode of "Two and a Half Men" that includes one of his greatest performances: "Is There a Mrs."

Down and dirty divorces are nothing new in Hollywood but the ongoing feud between exes Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards has gotten even messier. The two are battling over whether Richards really wants Sheen to father another child with her. The "Two and a Half Men" star says Richards e-mailed his fiancée Brooke Mueller to that effect. But the former Bond beauty tells Page Six at the New York Post: "I am so over him. He's the one who can't move on. He's disgusting and he's hit an all-time low."

Richards is in New York to promote her new E! reality series "It's Complicated." And these new allegations could certainly complicate Charlie Sheen's efforts to land a third consecutive Emmy nod for lead actor in a comedy series. While Sheen has emerged surprisingly unscathed so far, this latest round of scandalous allegations comes at exactly the wrong time –- just when Emmy voters are compiling their lists of who has been naughty and nice this season.
