You decide the ESPY Awards winners
The ESPY Awards, honoring the best in sports, turn 16 this year and once again the fans will decide the winners. Bold-faced names from the entertainment pages will salute the top athletes of the year. Hosting the festivities at L.A.'s Nokia Theatre on July 16 is avid amateur golfer Justin Timberlake. (This new 7100-seat theater, across the street from Staples Center, where the L.A. Lakers play, will be home to the Emmycast for the next decade.)
Last year, over 12 million votes decided the winners in 37 categories topped by best male and female athletes. While last year's big winners -- NFL star running back LaDainian Tomlinson of the San Diego Chargers and University of Arizona softball star Taryne Mowatt are not in the running -- the field is full of stars from both pro and amateur athletics. And in a nod to Hollywood, there is an ESPY for best sports movie. This year's contenders are "Leatherheads," "Resurrecting the Champ," "Semi Pro" and "The Game Plan."

Peter Norman who was the silver medalist in the famous black power protest of the 1968 Olympic Games should be equally honored by the ESPY'S. But once again he has been left out. Shame on you ESPY'S.
