ANSWERS: Desi Arnaz ("I Love Lucy"), Eva Gabor ("Green Acres"), Buddy Ebsen ("Davy Crockett," "Beverly Hillbillies," "Barnaby Jones") and Penny Marshall ("Laverne & Shirley") were never nominated.

Enormous confusion surrounds how "Roseanne" fared at the Emmys. It's widely known that the snooty bias of Beverly Hills voters against blue-collar TV shows caused the top-rated series never to be nominated for best comedy even though it won the equivalent award at the Golden Globes and claimed a Peabody prize too. However, that bias is not so evidenced in the acting races where the show's star Roseanne (now known as Roseanne Barr again) was nominated for best comedy actress four times and won once (1993).
