QUIZ: Who won an Oscar and Emmy in the same year?

August 20, 2008 | 10:23 am

All four of these actresses won an Oscar and Emmy, but which one is the only star who's ever pulled off this accomplishment in the same year? To see the answer, click on the "Continue Reading" link below the photos.

ANSWER: Helen Hunt won the Emmy for "Mad About You" and the Oscar (and Golden Globe) for "As Good As It Gets" in 1998.

Side note: Director Bob Fosse is the only person to win an Emmy, Oscar and Tony in the same year (1973) for, respectively, "Liza with a 'Z,'" "Cabaret" and "Pippin." However, since he wasn't a star, his name doesn't qualify as a correct answer to this Gold Derby trivia question.
