Jerry Bruckheimer: 'Amazing' won't quit the Emmy race

September 21, 2008 |  7:41 pm

Backstage at the Emmys, "Amazing Race" producer Jerry Bruckheimer was just asked if his show — which just won the prize as best reality/competition show for a sixth year in a row — will ever quit the Emmy race like so many repeat winners have in the past.

Candice Bergen and Bill Cosby took themselves out of competition at points in the past (although Bergen was back in the race this year). Ditto for Oprah Winfrey at the Daytime Emmys.

But Bruckheimer said, "I doubt it. I really do. We love these statues."

Phil is not even acknowledged by his own producer when they go on stage at the Emmy's. He deserves a lot of the credit for making the show the success it is.

TAR is by far the best reality show out there and this 6th win in a row is a testament to that. Phil Keoghan is a great host who brings warmth to the show. It is a travesty that he was not even nominated this year (Maybe next year).

best. show. ever.

Yeah Bert!

TAR's Emmy wins are well deserved.
