Gold Derby's Emmy racetrack odds nailed 9 of 11 top races

September 22, 2008 |  3:46 pm

Considering that the Emmys are widely known to be the most unpredictable of Hollywood's awards, I think our racetrack odds panned out rather well — especially that last-minute Bryan Cranston call! But I got two races dead wrong, giving rather shoddy odds to eventual champs Laura Linney ("John Adams") and Tina Fey ("30 Rock"). Frankly, neither performance was emotionally flashy, which is usually preferred by the judges. To see our original rundown, CLICK HERE. They're also reproduced below with an "X" noting the final winner in each category.

Hey Tom, congratulations on picking Bryan Cranston! I wasn't too sure about your 11th hour change, but clearly you had your hand on Hollywood's pulse.
