How's Russell Brand doing so far as MTV VMA host?
I must admit that I thought that MTV's hiring of U.K. rabblerouser Russell Brand was a cool idea when the news broke, but his humor doesn't always cross the Atlantic well. Often he strikes me as one of those comedians who makes kids laugh just by being obnoxious and loud and relentlessly in your face, but he's holding forth pretty well tonight and he's actually, egad, funny. Frankly, it was a bit of a s-t-r-e-t-c-h letting a Brit vent his huffy views on U.S. politics on stage, but he sold 'em well, even if, somewhere in Alaska tonight, there's a young, unwed dad-to-be who's a bit irked. And Russell's high-volume, over-the-top pitching of each upcoming act is a bit much, but he's zanily moving the show. Rock on, Russell!

Russell was great. I'm amazed that so few people have a sense of humor. Or maybe they just don't get it. Maybe they like retarded cowboys because they can relate. Can't wait to see more of Mr. Brand.

This guy writing this article is obviously a die hard Democrat that's why he likes Brand.
I am in the middle and don't like ether McCain or Obama. I watched this show and do like British humor but this guy wasn't funny at all!
I can't stand the Jonas brothers, but dude I wanted this guy to shut up all ready about their religion. This fool must have told the same joke about them 20+ times the whole night! - WASN'T FUNNY THE FIRST TIME!
I have no idea how Brand got famous cause he couldn't make me even smile I was embarrassed for his country. Only people who thought he was funny were die hard democrats and I think this guy makes swing voters not wanna vote Obama.
All I can say is this guyw as really reaching for attention ... I hate to say it but I think even Carrot Top is funnier any day then this guy. I MISS DAVE CHAPPELL! - Where did the real comedians go?

He was a total bomb!! Especially when he made fun of the JoBros committment to their faith. It was sooo uncalled for and he made himself look like a total Godless idiot!! His obsession with sexual comments was disgusting and distasteful. Why couldn't MTV hire someone America can relate to?!!
