Some of the best award prophets at The Envelope hang out in Gold Derby's message boards, which are unique — and quite exciting. Because Hollywood is obsessed with gold-plated trophies, lots of Oscar, Golden Globe, Emmy, Grammy and Tony winners and nominees (and wannabes) lurk among regular posters, snooping to find out the inside scoop on who's ahead to win. Everybody's true identity is hidden behind cyber-nicknames, so you must be careful when posting comments. If you get caught up in a heated exchange with someone about the chances of this-or-that celebrity to be nominated for best actress, let's say, you may actually be battling with that star.

The other day we received the early Oscar predix from our forum moderators. Then I asked them to recommend some Oscar-savvy posters to give us their forecasts. The team they assembled: Atypical, Bocaboy7, Dr. McPhearson, Kams and Pacinofan. (As far as I know, none of them are Oscar contenders.) To that lineup, I've added Guru, who is actually a moderator, but he wasn't able to give us his forecast earlier.

In the best-picture race, "Milk" gets most of their votes (five), followed by "Revolutionary Road" (four). All six of our gurus say Leo DiCaprio ("Revolutionary Road") and Sean Penn ("Milk") will be nommed for best actor and that Angelina Jolie ("Changeling") and Meryl Streep ("Doubt") will make the best-actress lineup.
