The Envelope is abuzz with Oscars predix!

November 16, 2008 | 10:15 am

The Envelope's Buzzmeter is up and buzzing with the predix of top Oscars experts. CLICK HERE to see the views logged last week and check back this week to see updated picks. Below is a roundup of initial forecasts of just some of our key participants: Thelma Adams (Us Weekly), Dave Karger (Entertainment Weekly), Scott Feinberg (Feinberg Files, The Envelope), Lou Lumenick (New York Post), Sasha Stone (AwardsDaily.com), Anne Thompson (Variety) and Peter Travers (Rolling Stone).

At the Buzzmeter, you'll also find the predix of Anthony Breznican (USA Today), Edward Douglas (Comingsoon.net), Greg Ellwood (MSN Movies), Peter Howell (Toronto Star), Kris Tapley (InContention.com), Jeff Wells (Hollywood-Elsewhere.com) and Envelopers Patrick Kevin Day, Mark Olsen and Tim Swanson.

Coming soon: the additional views of Jill Bernstein (Entertainment Weekly), Jeff Goldsmith (Creative Screenwriting magazine), Claudia Puig (USA Today), Carey Rickey (Philadelphia Inquirer), Sam Rubin (KTLA), Susan Wloszczyna (USA Today) and Envelopers Patrick Goldstein, Pete Hammond and John Horn. Plus more!

It's great to see this predix tradition continue since the launch of Gold Derby in 1999 as the first website to present the summary award predictions of top pundits. When the L.A. Times took over GoldDerby.com in November 2005, we had more than 45 of America's leading journalists piping in with forecasts of the Oscars, Emmys, Grammys and Tonys. Now we present the views of more than 100 each year.

Someone start including Dev Patel if he's in the best actor race! Or is he going for supporting? Plus where is Keira Knightley in the best actress predix for The Duchess?

P.S> To the poster above, Leo Di Caprio lost best supporting actor for Gilbert Grape, not best actor.

can anybody beat meryl..other that kate winslet??

Can it please be the year that Leonardo DiCaprio is the front runner for best actor for Revolutionary Road? For whatever reason, he has lost best actor for What's eating gilbert Grape, the aviator, blood diamond and was not even nominated for best picture winners -- Titanic and The Departed -- which if not for him would not be the films that they were. He has long deserved an Oscar -- can this please be the year!!!!!!

Start tracking the supporting races. That's what we're really interested in.
