We dish 'Nothing But the Truth' with Kate Beckinsale

November 18, 2008 |  2:31 pm

Kate Beckinsale's performance as a heroic journalist tossed in prison because she won't reveal a news source has been generating Oscars buzz since "Nothing But the Truth" caught fire at the Toronto Film Festival in September. It's due to open in strictly limited release around Christmastime, then roll out nationally in January. For advance dish, check out the chat I had recently with Beckinsale at the Hollywood Museum.

This is a seriously mediocre film masquerading as something important.

Vera Farmiga and Alan Alda give terrific performances, but Beckinsale is quite tedious and whiny in the lead, actually.
