Oscars experts split over who'll win best actress

In the Oscar race for best picture, "Slumdog Millionaire" leads "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" by a score of four to two with this sampling of six of The Envelope's Buzzmeter pundits: Brad Brevet (RopeOfSilicon.com), Erik Davis (AOL Cinematical), Pete Hammond (Notes on a Season, The Envelope), Lou Lumenick (New York Post), Michael Musto (Village Voice), Jeff Wells (Hollywood-Elsewhere.com).

Sean Penn ("Milk") is way out front in the best actor race with five of the half dozen votes. The lead-actress derby is led by Meryl Streep ("Doubt") with three votes, Kate Winslet ("Revolutionary Road") with two, followed by Anne Hathaway ("Rachel Getting Married") with one. It should be Kate's year but the Oscar always has something nasty up its sleeve!!! Meryl is a class act but the Academy is in over-kill mode when it comes to her - they want to nominate her for going to the toilet these days!
