Andrew Stanton isn't eligible for a DGA nom

January 5, 2009 | 11:22 am

Revise your predix, "Wall-E" fans! Turns out that it's impossible that Andrew Stanton may pop up on the list of Directors Guild of America nominations this Thursday. Animated features aren't eligible.

Can animated directors be nominated at the Oscars? If so I wonder if this rule will help Andrew Stanton there. DGA/Academy members thinking "oh I wanted to vote for Stanton but I couldn't let me put him on my Academy ballot" (and possibly higher than they would have if he could be nominated for the DGA).
