Yes, Tina Fey trashed The Envelope's forum posters!
That's right. When she won the Golden Globe as best actress in a TV comedy series, Tina Fey ("30 Rock") mentioned how hurt she is by some of the tough things The Envelope's forum posters say about her in their postings. Here's the transcript of her acceptance speech:
"I want to say thank you to the Hollywood Foreign Press. I'll always love the Hollywood Foreign Press and have all the Hollywood Foreign Press action figures. Thank you, Will Arnett, for that joke. But I want you to really know how lucky I am to have the year I've had this year and, if you ever start to feel too good about yourself, they have this thing called the Internet! You can find a lot of people there who don't like you! I'd like to address some of them now! BabsonLacrosse, you can suck it. DianeFan, you can suck it. Cougar Lover, you can really suck it 'cause you've been after me all year. And to my husband, Jeff, I love you. Thank you very much! "
Backstage in the press room, I asked Tina to elaborate. Here's what she said.
Afterward, I ran into Tina in the hallway of the Beverly Hilton where I offered her our apology. See the video HERE!
Gawker.com picked up on the story and did a roundup of some of the forum posts that probably got Tina irked - HERE!

I think i am going to dress up like her and do an impression. "I'm a whiner"

Wow. You all need to get over it. It was a joke. It was a funny funny joke. Being a comedian, Tina Fey made a funny joke during her speech that made everyone laugh. It's her job and she's good at it. So stop analyzing it so deeply. Reeeeallly?!

This is NOT a case of someone dishing it out but not being able to take it. Tina Fey was mocking petty people who have way too much time on their hands, in a way that we all wish we could.
Tina Fey is a clever and talented writer and actor. She was great on SNL and she does just as well on 30Rock, which is one of the smartest shows on television.
Look, if you love Sarah Pailin, that's great. I happen to like her, even if I didn't vote for her. But if your love of the Alaska governor is so blind that your hate of all who parody this public figure turns into a laserlike obsession, then maybe the problem is you.
By the way, what really sucks is the Internet.

I can't imagine why some of you think it's appauling that Tina Fey has read some of the comments about her online. I would like to see how you react if every single day of your life you're criticized and commented. I'd highly doubt any of you would come out liking the whole thing and having to suck it up and not fire back. Tina, kudos to you!

Tina Fey is most certainly a goddess. However, she is in imminent danger from American Goddess Syndrome, where American women become so hyper aware of the fact that they are goddesses, that it actually spoil their goddessness.

Tina rAWKs...you go girl.
If the globes was a more informal setting I'd love to have heard her bust out in some Jay & Silent Bob lines like "All you mother__ckers are going to pay! You are the ones that are the b*ll lickers...."
Another classic from that Jay & Silent Bob movie that grooves on this topic:
Holden: ...The Internet has given everybody in America a voice. For some reason, everybody decides to use that voice to bitch about movies.
LMFAO

Wow.
I knew she was vain, but she really has time to read teh pithy comments directed at her?
She just stepped down another notch in my estimation.
A talented writer and a so-so performer who reads the internet hubbub about her?
Wow.
I cannot believe she's so vain.

Fey has been sharp and witty ever since her very first moments on SNL years ago. I marvel not at her winning everything under the sun, which is deserved, but at the fact that it's taken so many so long to catch up. We should be thanking the heavens that TV boasts of such a smart, keen, and very attractive (may I say) comedy queen. Even without the Palin barbs, Fey would have deserved the gush of praise.

Republicans will have to find another pretense now that hate is going out of style. Let's see-- No, Ugly is too good for them. How about stupid? You know, as in ignorance can be cured, but stupid is forever? A ten trillion $ deficit is bad, but it cost a hundred trillion in missed opportunities. They give myopia a bad name.

Just proves she is such a little person that can't take ANY criticism, but can surely ctiticize and make fun of others....just to make a buck.
POOR TINA, I feel so sorry for you.

Actually, not only has Babson Women's Lacrosse won back-to-back conference championships, but they LOVE Tina Fey!

If anyone knows how to suck it, it's TIna Fey.

I just popped in here to see if "cougar-letter" really existed.... and by Jove its true!!! (roflmmfao) many ever lovin moohaahaa's--your friendly neighborhood Spideyfan! :) (to paraphrase a song titled "Grease": "'Seep' is the word") rofl!
Posted by: Spideyfan | January 12, 2009 at 10:28 AM
Tina Fey sure knows how to hand it out, but when it comes to taking it, well, now that's a completely different story!
Bite me, TIna. Your mouth is way crooked.
From sucking too much, I opine.

Go Tina!
You are the best!
Congratulations on your Globe.

Hey cougar-letter, you can suck it.
Posted by: Marbegirl | January 12, 2009 at 10:28 AM
One does not embarrass critics with verbal spit. Ms. Fey's coarse remark embarrassed only herself and the fools who think she was clever, She is a talented, but characteristically crude, lefty.

So, Tina Fey can dish it out, but she can't take it?
hmmmm.
Posted by: KySlugBug | January 12, 2009 at 10:28 AM
Tina if you are reading this know that we love you!
Posted by: tom | January 12, 2009 at 10:28 AM
Give me something to suck on...
Posted by: Cougar-Letter | January 12, 2009 at 04:08 AM
Of course the problem is that 1 of the posters she named was a fan of hers and never trashed her. But why let reality seap into a celebrity looking for attention.

All those that hate Tina Fey can kiss her big black ass. I love you Tina. Let's get drunk and have babies. Sincerely your stunt double

I love that she got back at them in such a funny, humble way. It's very human to admit they get to her and I love that she breaks the covenant that you're not supposed to admit these a-holes get to you, especially not so publicly. She found the perfect tone to deal with it, unlike others I won't name who seem bitter and inappropriate when they bring up criticism, like someone who compulsively offloads their baggage to anyone in earshot.
Loaded questions is right. After Fey offers "anonymity" as a rightful explanation for internet haters, Is that Ted Casablanca asking if they are "upset about something else" in a leading way? He sounds catty and rude.

Tina was right about Babson. Their lacrosse team sucks! Now we'll shout "suck it" everytime we crush them!

I love her!!!! I loved her speech!!!!
