Miley Cyrus leads with three Kids' Choice Awards nominations

February 6, 2009 |  4:47 pm

Miley Cyrus landed three Kids' Choice Awards nominations today, capping off a week in which she landed in hot water for an objectionable photo. The two-time winner competes once more as favorite TV actress for her Disney series "Hannah Montana" and she is also hoping to repeat as favorite female singer while contending for the first time as favorite voice in a movie ("Bolt").

Miley Cyrus was snubbed by the Oscars for the song she co-wrote for "Bolt." So too was "The Dark Knight." This PG-13 film contends at the Kids' Choice Awards for best picture against G-rated "High School Musical 3," PG fare "Bedtime Stories," and another PG-13 flick "Iron Man."

Three multiple KCA winners — two five-time champs Jim Carrey ("Yes Man") and Will Smith ("Hancock") as well as six-timer Adam Sandler ("Bedtime Stories") — compete for best movie actor against newcomer George Lopez ("Beverly Hills Chihuahua"). First-time Oscar nominee Anne Hathaway ("Rachel Getting Married") landed her first Kids' Choice Awards nod for her other 2008 release "Get Smart." Her competition for favorite movie actress are two other first-time film nominees — Jennifer Aniston ("Marley & Me") who had six TV nods for "Friends" and Vanessa Hudgens ("High School Musical 3) — and Reese Witherspoon who picked up her second nod for "Four Christmases."

Winners of this 22nd edition of these Nickelodeon sponsored kudos will be determined by voting at the KCA website. Dwayne Johnson hosts the fun for the first-time when the awards are handed out March 22 at the Pauley Pavilion at UCLA.
