Daytime Emmy pre-noms list has 'shameful omissions'!
Five-time best-actor champ David Canary wasn't submitted as a Daytime Emmy contender by his colleagues on "All My Children"! That's among the "shameful omissions" on the Emmy pre-nom list, according to Nelson Branco of TV Guide Canada.
Others: Deidre Hall ("Days of Our Lives"), Melody Thomas Scott ("The Young and the Restless"), Eric Braeden ("The Young and the Restless"), Steve Burton ("General Hospital") and Trevor St. John ("One Life to Live").
Most curious: Nelson is not outraged over the snub of Susan Lucci by her "All My Children" costars.
Among the stars that made the cut: four-time winners Kim Zimmer ("Guiding Light") and Susan Flannery ("Bold and the Beautiful").
This year the casts of each show were only permitted to submit two stars from their ranks for each category at the Daytime Emmys. Last year they got to choose three. Next step: the semi-finalists submit sample episodes to Emmy judges, who'll determine who the nominees and winners will be. The drama over what episodes they should choose is a real soap opera in itself. Follow the cat-fighting in our forums.
Meantime, there's still no word of when the award ceremony will be and if there will be a telecast. Many media sources have reported that the four top broadcast channels — ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox — have all declined in addition to cable network Soapnet.
"Nominations will be announced sometime in late April," Nelson reports. "Later this week, NATAS is expected to reveal their broadcast host, and a date for the Daytime Emmy Awards."

I think the little girl who plays Emma should have been nominated. She does her lines very well and very believable. I think Alicia Minshew should also have been nominated.. They are on All My Children..

Seems like a nice enough guy. As to whether he was able to emote anything in all his tired, rehashed 2nd rate Sonny Corinthos storylines, not so much. If he does leave, maybe they could have Jason get his memories back and become a Quartermaine again. It's bad enough we gotta' listen to Sonny talk AT people regardless of what emotion he's trying to evoke - when he's happy, he sounds snarky; when he's upset, all he does is raise his voice while he's still being snarky. long story short: Sonny and Jason emote as well as a comatose actor does.

The ommission of Steve Burton (General Hospital's Jason Morgan) from the Daytime Emmy Awards "pre-nom" list is truly shameful! His outstanding work in relation to the storyline surrounding Michael Corinthos' shooting was nothing short of riveting! We were also treated to a bit of Steve's comedic talent this year (which, believe me, is considerable...the man is hilarious!) in his relationship with his "Grasshopper" and "Maximista"! Steve has the uncanny ability to convey every level of emotion simply by the expression on his face. Be it angst, amusement, admiration, annoyance, or anger, the intensity of each emotion comes through in those amazing "baby blues" of his.
It is rumored that Steve Burton is going to retire from GH when his contract is up later this year. He has given his heart and soul to his role as Jason (Quartermaine) Morgan for the past 16+ years! The least ABC/GH could have done is to acknowledge his body of outstanding work by giving him the Best Actor Daytime Emmy pre-nom this year. SHAME ON YOU ABC/GH!
