There are alot of talented actresses but you are missing a very talented actress. Her name is Emily Procter from CSI Miami and she had a very good role in The West Wing. I have been watching CSI Miami for the whole seven seasons and i have seen her grow up through the whole seasons. She deserves a lot of credit for her hard work of what she puts into her job. And i think that she enjoys what she is doing and she is really good at her job.

Jill Scott deserves to win this HANDS DOWN, but its obvious that she won't win for the exact same reasons that the Wire never won anything.....if you haven't watched Jill Scott's performance on this show, then you're missing out on one of the best performances by a cast in the last 10 years.

I've gone quiet long enough and must now join the throng of stunned Emily Procter fans for not seeing Emily's name on the Best Actress list! I've watched CSI:Miami since the first episode and it is obvious to me how with every passing season, and every passing episode, the amount of intensity and realism she puts into portraying her character, the gorgeous Calleigh Duquesne.

Emily also deserves, in my opinion, to be acknowledged for her constant devotion to others with the numerous charities she supports...this also makes her a person worthy of an award!

And there's a reason that girl from CSI Emily-something is not on that list... she is just not Emmy material. I mean she must be worse than the girl from Lost and even she made the list. That's saying something ...

Definetely EMMY WINNER CHLOE SEVIGNY!!! She and the actresses of BIg Love kick ass in terms of being SOOOOOOOOO much better than the actresses from network shows. As Nicki, Sevigny is so funny, honest and conniving that she steals a lot of scenes. However, she is a victim of abuse and polygamy so most viewers understand where she's comming from. BIG LOVE is the BEST and the critics agree. Those other network shows (procedural, cheap sex-drama, ''medical dramas'')are inferior. HBO rules!!!

oh ... Emily is absolutely the best actress
if someone deserves Emmy .... so Emily
Emily, you are amazing ... and we love you, I think I speak for all of your fans

Great to see all the support to the ''Big Love'' ladies. No one deserves the award more than them. They're amazing!!! HBO may've given us only 10 episodes this season, but they all ROCKED, and so did the actresses on the show.

Chloe Sevigny better get a nomination.

As lot's of the others already mentioned, I also would like to say that I can't believe that Emily Procter from CSI:MIAMI is not on the list.
With incredible commitment and engagement Emily has played her role Calleigh Duquesne in the episode "Smoke gets in your CSI's". Especially the difficult scenes (and in this episode there have been a lot of difficult scenes), she has played brilliantly. And as you can see I'm not the only person thinking so. Emily Procter did a great job -not only in this episode. She deserves an Award!!! :)

Chole Wilson,

What's with all the descriptions of Emily Procter's reactions in those episodes? (that's a little desperate I would say). Besides, great acting is not just good isolated moments in a TV show. A great Lead Actress should be able to carry the episode without saying anything. And even though I watch CSI:Miami, I think that the three of the most intense and talented actresses right now are the leads from Big Love. This year they showed great range in scenes where they didn't even said a word. The three of them are amazing together and the audience can understand where their emotions come from.

New faces needed in the Emmys? How about if we start acknowleding the great work of Jeanne Tripplehorn, Cloe Sevigny and Ginnifer Goodwin?

By the way, I'll have to check out Billie Piper... I've heard great comments about her acting.

I honestly think that Emily Procter should be on this list. She has done an AMAZING acting job on csi miami and i think she should be rewarded. And like other people have said before, we need new people. Not the same ones everytime.

I really believe Emily Procter [Calleigh Duquesne] from CSI:MIAMI should be on that list. She has been a complete Legend and Superstar throughout her entire time on CSI:MIAMI, and she deserves to win an award so that she knows her work is appreciated! I definitely think she should be added to the list because to me, she is one of the greatest actresses of all time, and many people around the world agree with me, when I say that she deserves to have her work recognised. So Nominate or add Emily Procter to the list for the award, because I know, Emily would be very proud of her fans, if they did that for her...So come on, lets get her nominated! Her work on CSI:MIAMI has been outstanding....Let me remind you of some of the moments where she was a Legend in season 7:

-In "Smoke gets in your CSIs," She almost got killed through smoke inhalation because she put her life on the line. Her great acting skills portrayed how much of a Legend Emily is when she acted so well being in a Life Threatening situation. Bravo Emily and Well Done!

-In "Sink or Swim," She had ALOT of great moments with Adam Rodriguez [Eric Delko] and then there was the amazing Kiss scene at the end and the great line, "I have the safest house in Miami, Do you KNOW how many guns I have?"

-In "Head Case" her scene where she tells Eric "What Do you want?" Amazing...Just outstanding!

-In "Cheating Death" She gives Eric flirtatious eyes and says, "Girls Love flowers" Love that Episode and scene

-In "And how does that make you kill?" When she read Eric's file, It was the beginning of the Hiphugger Journey! :D

-In "Target Specific" When she had the bag put over her head..She was amazing also.

That is only naming a few of her outstanding scenes in season 7 alone, so, again, ADD EMILY TO THE LIST BECAUSE SHE TOTALLY DESERVES IT! SHE IS AN OUTSTANDING LEGEND AND SUPERSTAR! Emily, We love ya! XOX

Ellen Pompeo, "Grey's Anatomy"! (L)

I can't believe Emily Procter is not on the list !!
She does a great work on Csi:Miami and definitely she deserves an award or at least be on the list .

What I'm seeing is that in that list there is many actresses that were nominated last year, so why don't give a change to others super talented actresses?

All that actresses are all very talented and in my opinion, Emily Procter [Calleigh Duquesne, CSI:Miami] fits in a nice way there, but if you don't watch CSI:Miami, you won't agree with me, but that's because you don't watch it, and you didn't see her development of her talent, and also her development of her character. She has made everything, action/dangerous scenes, emotional, commic, romantic etc scenes, and she did it in the best way!

Let's put some new and talented actresses in that list.

I can't understand why Mary McDonnel is being ignored for BSG. The woman gave an Oscar worthy performance.
Kick Hargitay from the list, the woman is awful for 3 seasons now.

Mary McDonnell has deserved the Emmy for several years now. The prejudice against the term "sci fi" has kept her from her deserved prize. Hopefully, the recent BSG invitation and participation in a United Nations panel will open some eyes to the terrific show and her performance therein.

Emily Procter while a actress really is not of the same calibur as some on the list, that is why she didn't make the listing.Being on a popular show does not a fine actress make.

You know? It's a little bit ironic that this kind of Award doesn't update. I mean, it is impossible that always the same actors/actresses are still the best one American TV has to offer. This kind of phenomenon can make people think American TV is always the same and being the same it always gets older, older and older.
That's not my idea of American TV also because I know that there are many many talented actors who don't even get a nominee for any award.

One of these, in my opinion is, Emily Procter. I know that reviews are always so harsh towards CSI:Miami but let's consider that it is one of the most watched TV shows of the world because people still watch it. If its storylines are so bad, why do people go on watching it? Oh yeah that's called acting!!! I think lots of people will agree with me and I'll never stop saying that CSI:Miami has some of the best actors American TV can offer to us. One of them is surely Emily Procter because she’s just amazingly talented whenever it’s time to show an emotional side of her character and her comic side is just brilliant. And yeah it's a little bit pathetic that she doesn't get awarded because rating prefer to award always the same actors!!!
For god's sake give some other actors the chance to get it, if we want to show how American TV is great and always reflects society which, as far as I know, isn’t always the same.

I would really like to see Emily Procter nominated for Emmy. She is such a wonderful actress. Emily can really express emotions as if they were real and not acting.

Where is Emily Procter? I feel like there always is the same people who is nominated!

Emily Procter and CSI Miami does a great job with the show, and her acting is probably better than most of the persons on the list. She really deserves an award!

I think all these people are very talented but there is one person missing and her name is Emily Procter, she has done a great job on CSI Miami for many years but has never been nominated and i think she deserves a chance.

You are right, Paul. But that is so sad...I am gonna repeat what I think even if I am sure the big award people will keep on nominating always the same people. I am not that kind of person who surrender so easily.

I see a whole lot of talented actresses up there, what about Emily Procter from CSI:Miami? For seven seasons I've watched her grow and develop into a wonderfully talented actress who really deserves some credit for the hard work she puts into her job.
